Horsham, West Sussex-based father and son team Peter and Mark Cunningham are pleased to announce their return to the Dunlop Britcar Endurance Championship in 2016, taking the step up from Britcar Production with their new car, a Porsche 997 Cup.

Mark said, “We are both very excited about taking on the endurance championship, especially in the Porsche. We know we have a very steep learning curve ahead with the new car – however we are relishing the challenge. We have a lot of experience in endurance racing from many years participation in the production championship. We know what it takes to win and there will be no lack of effort from our team.”

Mark has been a familiar face on the Britcar grid since 2004, with his dad Peter joining him in 2005. The pair have previously raced a Seat Supercopa with SG Racing but the distinctive black and yellow Porsche 997 Cup first joined the Endurance grid for a test race at Snetterton in 2015.

Regarding sponsorship, Mark continued “We are pleased to have our loyal sponsors John Fredericks Plastics and Shaws Glass Ltd back on board again, we are also extremely happy to announce a new sponsor in Addspeed Performance Cars Ltd. AddSpeed are an independent Porsche specialist based in Horsham West Sussex. They will be maintaining our car and keeping us running throughout the season. A special thanks to Keith and his team for helping us make this happen – we look forward to developing the car with them over a very exciting season ahead.”

The first race in the 2016 Dunlop Endurance Championship takes place on the Silverstone GP circuit on 26th March.
