Championship Profile
One of the oldest continually running race series in the world, for sports-prototype racing cars with an offset driver position and small passenger space. Cars are often designed and built by enthusiasts from scratch, although kits are available and there is a good secondhand market. Power comes from a near-standard 1-litre Fiat engine to keep costs low, but slick tyres and a 375kg minimum weight make for extremely quck lap times – often within a second of BTCC pace. 750 Formula is believed by many to be the ultimate longstanding incarnation of low cost circuit racing.
