United Autosports to enter second car in LMP3 Cup Championship

LMP3 Cup Championship entrants United Autosports will run a second car in the 2017 season to be driven by Tony Wells and Matt Bell.

Wells, an experienced Radical driver, is the reigning Radical European Masters Champion. He has amassed 12 wins and 43 podiums across his 88 races in the lightweight sports car. With a near 50% podium percentage, Wells has enjoyed a prosperous six years racing Radicals in which time he was also crowned the 2012 UK Cup Masters champion. He is accustomed to LMP3 battle having last season competed in the European Le Mans Series for the RLR Msport team in a Ligier JS P3

“In testing, the team has provided the perfect environment of a competitive car whilst also having fun. In Matt I have a team mate who is not only fast but a good laugh too. I can’t wait for Donington!”

Sharing cockpit duties, Matt Bell is well versed with United Autosports having raced with the team in multiple British GT campaigns. Like his team mate, Bell has also driven in the ELMS in which he finished fourth in the LMP3 class standings having made it onto the podium during his efforts.

“The championship is a very exciting prospect and when it was announced I made it one of my priorities to try and be involved in it. Having a successful British series is very important for LMP3 and British motorsport.”

They join United Autosports already confirmed line-up of American duo Andrew Evans and CJ Wilson.
