DRIVERS’

THE YEAR
SMALL BUDGET, BIG AMBITIONS
Operating on a small budget is something that will be familiar to many
Clubman drivers, including David Taylor who set up
DM-racing.co.ukto pursue his motor racing dream following the loss of his father in
2012. After a successful 2015 in which Taylor achieved a 7th place
overall finish in the Scottish Fiesta Championship and a 5th place
finish in the Newcomers Cup, the team is now raising funds for the
2016 season via a dedicated crowdfunding page. Last season, despite
a season-long sponsorship deal with Just Wheels Scotland, financial constraints prevented the team from
taking part in all of the away rounds. To help ensure Taylor and his Mk2 Ford Fiesta XR2 can fulfil their
potential in 2016, you can find out more about supporting the campaign at
www.DM-racing.co.uk.
AJ OWEN, PRE-2003
PRODUCTION TOURING
CAR CHAMPION
“Today I’ve become something I
never, ever, ever thought I would
become – 2015 Pre-2003 Produc-
tion Touring Car CHAMPION!!!”
ANDREW HOUGH, CIVIC
CUP CLASS A CHAMPION
“Well what a way to finish the
racing season off – 2nd and 1st at
Donington Park GP today, claiming
the Civic Cup Class A.”
DPR MOTORSPORT
“It’s been a rollercoaster season;
plenty of highs and lows but the
team spirit in the DPR family this
year has been simply incredible.
Massive thanks to all the DPR
crew – mechanics, drivers and
driver coaches for making our
team such a special place to be.”
NEIL NEWSTEAD, 2015
MINI CHALLENGE JCW
CHAMPION
“What an amazing year racing,
which got even better at the end
of year celebrations and awards
evening, winning the 2015 Mini
Challenge JCW Championship,
Directors Cup, Fastest Driver and
picking up the Mini Retailer Cup
for my sponsors and partners
Chandlers of Hailsham. None of
this could have been possible
without the support of so many
people, including the champion-
ship double winning team Oak-
field Motorsport, all of my partners
and sponsors, and most of all my
beautiful wife and amazing family.
Life is great!”
JOE TANNER,
MINI COOPER CUP
CHAMPIONSHIP RACER
“Painful end to the 2015 Mini
Cooper Cup Championship for
me after my clutch went “pop”
almost in sight of the chequered
flag, while leading the final race!
Despite that, I have enjoyed every
moment and been involved in
some great races! Need to say a
huge thank you to everyone who
made it possible – Paul Bell, An-
drew Lamont, Ian Hoggins, Steven
Wilkie and Kevin Glasson for their
hard work, and everyone else who
has helped out. Well done also to
Kenneth Thirwall on securing the
championship again, and good
luck with the bike racing!”
CHRIS HUTCHINSON,
CATERHAM TRACKSPORT
CHAMPIONSHIP
“Another amazing year with an
amazing group of people! Without
racing I would not have made such
great friends and been able to share
some very special moments!”
LUKE HERBERT, MICHELIN
CLIO CUP CHAMPION
“Well what a way to end 2015!
Michelin Clio Cup Champion! Six
wins, four poles, a fastest lap, and 10
podiums! All of this would not have
been possible if it wasn’t for every-
one involved at teamWestbourne
Motorsport, my sponsors, girlfriend
Serena ‘Sezza’ Stokes and my family.”
